
BIOGRAPHY
Io is a versatile Brighton-based bass player originally from Athens, Greece. Moving to the UK in 2015 to study at BIMM, she quickly established herself as a sought-after musician in Brighton’s thriving music scene, performing with various bands and artists. Some notable festival performances include the main stage at Rebellion Festival, Y Not, 2000 Trees and Fusion Festival in Germany.
Her career as a session musician has taken her around the world, performing across the UK, mainland Europe, Israel, and even the Caribbean Islands. Her latest position with touring theatre show Massaoke: Sing The Musicals has her performing in some of the UK's most prestigious venues such as Sheffield City Hall, The Alban Arena and many more.
Io has worked with a wide range of artists and genres, including Georgia Train (Bitter Ruin), Steve Hewitt (Placebo), Interlaker (Lonely The Brave, Arcane Roots), the Ramonas, glam-rock band Hightown Parade, Bella Spinks, RnB singer-songwriter Satch Satchell, KIDS and many more.
Io's most recent recording work consists of writing and recording the bass lines for Georgia Train's album 'Needles & Pinches, which can be found on all streaming platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Classical Music Harmony
- Grade 6 in Classical Piano studies
- Professional Musicianship Degree – BIMM
